To date £7000 has been raised, with more still to come. ‘Lucky’ the French rescue dog, together with his owner Terry Jones, amazed everyone by collecting almost £600 in sponsorship money.
Talking about the walk, Jim Harris, Chairman of the Fundraising Committee, said he wanted to “thank all our volunteers for ensuring the day was such a huge success – the 46 marshals who helped to ensure everyone’s safety; the volunteers who helped to man the various check-in and check- out points and our sponsors – not least the Water Cooler Company, Angel Springs, the UK’s fastest growing independent service provider of both bottled and mains fed water coolers who kindly donated over 300 bottles of water for everyone, including the dogs! But most of all, our thanks go to the walkers who not only said they’d had a wonderful day, but described the walk variously as being, superb, breathtaking, wonderful and well worth doing.”
2 cups will be presented to the individual who sponsored the most money and to a company or group who raised the largest amount.
